Paweł Kwiatkowski, Kapitech

Pawel is a Manager of Kapitech. He has over 13 years of professional experience in geoinformation and remote sensing. For the past few years he worked in the Research Institute as a Senior Specialist where he was responsible for coordination and implementation of the European R&D projects in the field of sustainable transport, satellite technologies, spatial information and navigation systems. He managed projects for the navigation systems, maps for the websites, tourist sightseeing systems and other projects where used the digital maps and geodatabases. He was responsible for the dissemination and exploitation activities in the European projects. Currently in Kapitech he actively participates in projects within EIT Climate-KIC (as a leader), where the main task is to show how to use satellite data to study air quality and its improvement (PolAir project). He is responsible for the coordination and implementation of others European projects (H2020, ESA) in the fields of satellite technologies, AI, machine lerning and spatial information. He actively participates in activities supporting start-ups in building new technologies and drawing business plans.

Anna is a Technical Consultant at Kapitech. She has more than 9 years of professional experience. She is a specialist in geographical information systems (GIS). For the last 9 years she has been working in the Research Institute where she was responsible for the GIS analysis, processing of satellite data, automated classification of land cover, etc. She was involved in the Corine Land Cover 2012 and CLC 2018 inventory and verification of the High Resolution Layers 2012 and HRL 2015 (Copernicus Land Monitoring programme). She has extensive experience in working with GIS software. She is currently trying to automate her work by developing in the Python language. Anna’s responsibility belongs primarily for the implementation of the European projects (H2020, ESA, Climate-KIC) in the fields of satellite technologies, spatial information and climate change as well as participation in active support for start-ups in building new technologies and drawing business plans. She is also responsible for the communication and dissemination activities in different projects.

Martyna is a PhD Student, Project Manager. She has 10 years’ experience in research and demonstration projects execution and management. Her main area of expertise is application of satellite data for agricultural and insurance sector. Between 2016 – 2019, she was the Project Manager for demonstration project, co-financed by the European Space Agency, which goal was to deliver comprehensive, satellite data based service targeted for Agricultural Sector. She accomplished post-graduate studies in project management and commercialization as well as she obtained the IPMA Project Management Certificate. She was co-author of winnig idea in Space3ac acceleration programme and further she was engaged as an Mentor in two acceleration programmes and many hackathons. Since 2019 she is employed in National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the European Union, where she is coordinating the project targeted to polish medium and small size enterprises as well as she is playing the role of expert in Innovation for SMEs.

Damian works at Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in Warsaw in the Remote Sensing Center. He has an experience in implementing projects for the European Space Agency. He was an expert providing trainings for the teams participating in Acceleration Programme under BalticSatApps Project executed by Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. He has also given several lectures within Copernicus Information Sessions organized in various regions in Poland within BalticSatApps project as well as he provided training to the participants of the Copernicus Training Sessions. He was one of the main executors of CorineLandCover 2018 edition for Poland, which was developed by Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. Damian will provide the support in EO data and usage of the processing tools as well as an expert on CorineLandCover with the special focus on Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.

Michał is an EO specialist with several years of experience in the industry. Graduate of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (master degree) and Military University of Technology in Warsaw (engineer’s degree).
In professional career is focused mainly on the use of satellite imagery, familiar with most of the nowadays used data and software. In his current work focused primarily on the processing of radar and optical imagery within automated processing chains as well as the publication of spatial data on the web servers. In his previous work he gained also experience in creating databases of topographic objects and utility networks, worked on creating map portals, aerial and satellite orthophotomaps and worked in 3D environment.
